🚀 Program Overview

Summary

The Launch Pad Mentorship Program is a program developed by UBC Launch Pad, designed for UBC students to engage, educate, and equip a select cohort of curious students with insider knowledge. UBC Launch Pad stands for student advocacy by providing necessary mentorship opportunities in the hopes to assist in the future success of UBC students.

The Mentoring Process

  1. Successful candidates for mentorship mentees and mentors will be arranged into either mentee-mentor groups or pairings based off of similar goals and topics of interest. Students and mentors have a choice of choosing one of the two mentorship routes we offer: Recurring Coffee Chats or Team Mentorship (find out more under “Mentorship Types”).
  2. Candidates will receive an announcement to check their confirmed partners through the “Mentorship 2024 Database” under their name.
  3. After receiving your confirmed pairings, each student and mentor group will be responsible for making arrangements to meet either in-person or synchronously at a mutually convenient time within the timeframe of Mentorship sessions.
  4. Synchronous Activities will be sent out at designated dates through Discord, designed to inspire conversation between pairings and help build relationships within the pair. All activities will also be posted within this Notion Page under “Synchronous Activities”.

Logistics

  1. Communications will be held through the UBC Launch Pad Discord server. View Communication right below this page to find our invite link to our server!
  2. All important dates can be found in the “Calendar” tab.
  3. All mentees and mentors will be invited to attend three synchronous sessions in total, to celebrate the progress marks for the duration of the program. Detailed overviews of each session will be sent out via Discord for pairings to view or for those who were unable to attend the session.
