What Info We Collect
- Personal Information: When you apply for a role or project, you will provide us with some information. This includes details such as name, pronouns, email address, student number, graduation date.
- Professional Information: In addition to the above, you are asked to share files and links to your resume, portfolio, socials such as LinkedIn.
- Contribution: During your time with us and during any projects that we undertake, your tech leads and design leads will add notes on your participation after each semester.
How We Use Your Information
- Recruitment: As part of our recruitment process, we need information about you in order for us to find suitable members that fit our requirements both technologically and creatively.
- Yearly Statistics: As with most organizations, having a good understanding of our member body demographic is important for both our marketing efforts as well as strategic planning within the club.
- Sponsors: Our sponsors provide financial support through donations or partnerships. Some tiers offer sponsors our roster. They are to adhere to strict guidelines on how they can use your information. Essentially, they can only use the information to contact you based on job opportunities at their company or as extra information during their recruitment should you want them to reach out.
- Within the club: Only executive members have access to your information. While we do have a member database, that is a separate entity that members share what they want other members to be able to see such as socials.
- Marketing: During events, our marketing team might take photos or videos of attendees and post them online on our socials. If you do not want to be shown, you must opt out by emailing our strategy email as we can’t do this for everyone at once.
- Newsletter: Our mailing list allows us to send newsletters to your email. Our newsletter service is an opt-in feature and will only send you emails if you opt-in. You can also always opt out.
Security and Retention Policy
- We take the security of your personal info seriously. We’ve put reasonable measures in place to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
- Your data is stored securely using third-party services. We store most of our data on Notion and Google Drive.
- Just so you know, no system is 100% foolproof. While we do our best, we can’t guarantee absolute security.
- We will indefinitely retain all information that you provide after you join Launch Pad. If you are no longer a member or more than 2 years after graduating, you can email us to delete any identifying details such as your name. However, since Launch Pad is a small and selective club, you might still be identified by other means such as past posts or other members who you may have interacted with.
